2003: Little Zac, Big Dreams

Ever since I was little I was OBSESSED with dessert—ice cream, brownies, cake, and chocolate…if I wasn’t eating dessert I was making it for the people around me. I quickly realized the magic that dessert holds and knew it was my lifelong passion.

2012: Zac’s Sweet Shop was born

After going to the local mall, I found that boxes of chocolate were not super attainable, fun or innovative. I quickly realized the market opportunity and convinced (or maybe demanded) my mom into letting me launch my own business at 13 years old—I called it Zac’s Sweet Shop.

2019: Pittsburgh to Los Angeles

After getting accepted to USC in Los Angeles, as a first-generation college student I packed my bags in Pittsburgh to move out west. Less than a year into college I quickly realized I could not live without my Sweet Shop. Long story short, I rented a kitchen, began shipping nationwide, and haven’t looked back since.

2020: Beyoncé Approved!

After a crazy start of the year with COVID, we got an unexpected new fan: BEYONCÉ. We were humbly listed as one of her favorite Black-owned brands which skyrocketed our growth

2023: A year of collaborations

After building Zac’s direct to consumer for the first few years of business, we excitingly expanded into creative collaborations with some of our favorite brands like Tower 28 Beauty, The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and even traveled to New York City for our first-ever bi-coastal pop-up.

2024: New nostalgia

For the first time ever, we launched fully branded packaging which means an even more fun aesthetic, longer shelf life, and rolling out into stores. Our new look doesn’t change those same nostalgic flavors, quality ingredients, and the fun that we hope to bring back to boxes of chocolates.
